A Few Awesome Music Videos

I am not a huge Beirut fan, but I have to admit this video he did for his song Nantes is a really really cool idea. Essentially, he just walks down a staircase singing the song while people playing different instruments play the song. It has definitely become one of my favorite videos. Not the coolest, but up there. It sure makes me like the song a lot more. So, check out this video of him singing the song Nantes. You won’t regret it.

While I am discussing awesome music videos, I can't not mention my favorite music video of all time. Basically, I have to say that Mute Math's Typical music video is the coolest and most expertly pulled off music video ever (in my opinion). Basically, Mute Math learned how to play every part of Typical again - backwards. So to make the video, they recorded them playing it backwards, doing all the motions and everything forwards. Then they reversed the video and played the song forwards. And magically, it matches up. Absolutely incredible if you ask me. I especially have to applaud Darren King, the drummer, because I can't even begin to think of how you would learn that song, the way he plays it backwards. And singing backwards? Crazyness. So, check it out. Be amazed. Watch it multiple times. Do what I did when I first saw it. Plus, they played it live. They freaking played the song backwards...live...on national television. How awesome is that? Both videos are posted below, live performance is second video.

This has been fun. A top 5 favorite video countdown may be in this blog's future.
